We have ran macdons since 09 and current heads are FD1s. Better hydraulics on them versus previous heads. We can shave the ground pretty darn good and can follow through ditches really good too. They are rock pickers though versus a floating cutter bar. We roll so it’s not a big deal anymore. Guys I know with JDs flex drapers seem to have more breakdowns partly due to it being a floating cutter bar. They just take more abuse. Macdon is a well built head. Here comes the green underwear guys to put me in my place starting….. Now.
