Michigan | I have a FD70 45ft and a jd 645fd. I like the MacDon but the Deere follows rough ground better. I think the Deere cuts a bit cleaner in edibles and is way less finicky about adjustment. There is one big advantage to the MacDon that is the hydraulic tilt. So a Deere with a hydraulic tilt feeder house i believe is the way to go and parts are easier to get with Deere. Also Deere belts are 1/2 lengths so easier and cheaper to repair. I have sch cutting systems on both and that is also essential in my opinion.
