My experience it's a good engine. Mine is in a 96 Volvo I have owned since about 2002. Currently have around 785000 on it. Biggest trouble is injectors. I've probably replaced them all over the years. Only other problem I've had was a chirping noise during a pull. Let it go for quite a while because I couldn't pinpoint it. Turned out to be a broken head bolt. I guess it's kind of common but if I would have let it go much longer it would have been a more extensive repair. Mine is only set at 435hp.

Injectors are definitely a weak spot on those N14's.
