Grain prices don’t need to keep up with inflation, but they’re not completely disconnected from it either.
This is definitely true. Without inflation since the 70's corn would currently be something like $0.30 to $0.50 per bushel due to knowledge and technology advancements since then.
I'm just saying that you can't use the price of grains to judge inflation at all. Nor can you predict any sort of plateau in grains due to inflation. It all depends on how rapidly our knowledge and technology advances in regards to how much it costs us to product a bushel of corn. There may be stagnant periods in that regard and there may be rapid advancements in that regard.
