Are you holding the hydraulic lever down long enough?.....frame of planter has double acting cylinder markers have a single acting cylinder. Might the marker cables just be adjusted too short? When I have had trouble making a mark that I could see with my 7000 with smooth markers I couldn't consistantly plant the seed anyways....that could be a "here" thing.

Shoup does offer a notched blade: http://www.shoupparts.com/catalog/view.cfm?bmkName=SH37935&ID=3567&...

The late 7200 markers with the double acting cylinder on each marker are nice.....would not be a cheap upgrade.
