s nd | I guess the guy that sold me a wire welder 30 or more years ago didn't inform me that it only liked clean metal to weld decently. Never have or had a problem welding the break prepped or not. Usually do it right, though, to get it back to original. But I do run 3 passes usually, as was taught in college. When your dad dies when you're 21 and you have bad rocks and beets, you learn to be good pretty quickly. Died and went to heaven when I got the wire feed. Sold the flux chipper to the neighbor kid. Building just goes so much faster for me. And I had just bought a new ac/dc welder. Should sell it, it's just about new. If your weld isn't liking the wind, block the wind.
