Douglass Kansas

12 row planter, 4 rows each, middle 4 rows is my favorite variety and stays the same whole time. Plant 2 passes not right next to each other, then change varieties on outside rows. Gives me 2 reps. Plot winner is the variety that yields the highest % of the check. Check is also planted on end rows for 2 passes as well.

Last time I did a plot (2023)the check ranged from 116 to 167 with the greatest difference from pass to pass being 16 bu, 21 varieties in plot and only 4 varieties out yielded the check both times. The best variety yielded 105% and 109% of check. Then in 2024 I planted this variety in 3 fields and these 3 fields produced the 3 best field averages. Also one of these fields yielded 182.6 bu/acre which is our best field average ever, and this was done with no rain in July.  I would call that a successful test plot!
