| Mostly genetic. But it can be a permanently learned trait or environmental trait. I’ll take genetic or learned vs environmental, nothing worse than an unpredictable cow.
I have a cow and many of her daughters that are 20 foot cows. As long as you don’t touch their baby in the first month your buddy’s. They keep their distance. Move well through pens if you can get em in. But they always pick up a month plus, wean a mega calf, heifer drops a calf by 18 months.
I had a borrowed bull that all the male offspring was crazy, female offspring super docile. I’m talking heifers that lick you vs steers that will jump a 5’ fence under very light crowding.
