That makes sense. A researcher from UofI scouted for insects in 2 of my corn fields to collect data for her research on the impact of diverse crop rotations (and no insecticide use) on insect populations. She remarked that most corn rootworm adults enjoy a variety of hosts and corn may not even be their favorite.

I wonder if it might be to my advantage that they are attracted to the squash so I am perhaps concentrating egg laying in one area that normally rotates to soybean and wheat before going back to corn?
