Glasgow, Ky

I was fortunate to have a father who never criticized me for any farming decisions I made, sometimes I wish he had. :)  That being said I grew up on a small farm which just dabbled in farming vs an established large operation.  Any changes I made were plowing new ground vs changing the way things were being done.

Regretfully, after getting a full time operation going I was not as receptive to new ideas with my son.  I was laser focused on one thing, buying land.  To help do this I ran old equipment to free up money for land.  Looking back, I should have been more receptive to his desire for better equipment as it had a negative impact on his love of farming.  I should have compromised instead of being hard headed about it.
