| I don't know, but don't think the drive with alot of young guys is to go at it full time....................I know that drive dried up with me, rather work more profitable things and then blow it running feed through cattle, but atleast the steaks are darn good. I think the family experience of being exposed to livestock and hard work is worth what ever it costs, and unfortunately that is missing with the go big or go home that we are left with now.
I do find it odd that as time goes on that the generational wealth operations don't have any interest in doing a whole lot, know alot of such with younger kids starting to run things and they have no interest in doing anymore than necessary. In my case I tried to buy the hay I needed, everyone of them said they had a bunch and couldn't move it, tell them you had cash ready to work in hand, and you never get a call back. Didn't really have the time for it, but started making my own again instead of having to beg to buy something. Which isn't a bad thing, my son and nephew now enjoy doing it, and if I am lucky they might let me do something. | |
