Back to the labor market. I have heard the same old rhetoric many times that we have to get the welfare and unemployed working to fill in the gaps. What percentage of people that are in that class of potential workers? One other thing is that those people are the bottom of the barrel for workers. Even if you took away their freebies they still would be poor workers. These companies want motivated workers and choose not to recruit from the bottom as that would be like trying to win the Kentucky derby with a donkey. We might as face the facts that their are near as many workers as there were years back. Families are smaller now. China is facing the same thing due their rule of only allowing people to have one child. When I was a dairy farmer there used to be big farm families that you could recruit from, that all but dried up. That is the reason that there are jobs available for immigrants. After all the work has to get done.
