We've had 100 years suppression. Sure, there were big fires before, but they were the exception not the norm. Letting them burn, isn't the answer. Fuel loads are so high, fires are so hot its a complete loss. Fast moving crown fires that kill everything.

Most of the fires burning in Oregon were lightning caused. Historic fires were largely set by humans, to suppress doug fir and promote oaks and grassland.

Much of what is burning is all of ours... USFS and BLM.
