I’m seeing more of a push to smaller guys who don’t focus on grain farming. Ie: farmers retiring that probably harbor ill will and think giving the smaller guy (who I covered in the first post, who don’t care to maximize value on grain but love livestock). Size can vary depending on area. IE- 5000k acres means a lot different in IA, IL, eastern SD (etc) vs areas like Onida SD where 15k is a avg guy. Lol. Toss in if you’re one of the guys doing sugar beets and protected like you’re gold, and it gets worse (how you end up with folks like MCM).

Granted, I don’t know the ins and outs of Millennial Farmer or Larson Farms, which I believe started all this, so maybe I’m missing something. All I know, unless it’s all given to you free and clear, you have to have a solid head on your shoulders. Typically there is more to the story than meets the eye, just lots of assumptions.
