Baskin, Louisiana | I know we are a paripheral state, but there are hundreds of acres within a few miles of my place that won't get planted this year, mostly soybeans. Main culprits appear to be wet conditions and no crop loan approval. Its a tale of two crops here. The guys who rolled the dice and planted early and the more cautious who waited and didn't get it in until the last minute in muddy conditions. The early stuff looks great, while the later stuff is suffering. | |
