In heavy gumbo, I would think a disk hiller would make better beds. A v type plow would just slab it up. I would think the best approach might be a bedder roller with smaller plows,with small disk hiller behind them and on 60'' centers.

One of the best ways to work gumbo, IMO is to run the bedder, let it rain a few times, and plant on the stale seedbed.
