North central Iowa
We run Buffalo and B&H cultivators with 12" cultivator shovels, we then have a bolt on ridgeing wing that sits behind and alittle above the bottom of the shovel. If you are wanting to try a few acres you can probably find an old 6 row or 12 row rig on Iron search, a 6 row will work if you have a 12 row planter. Cultivate at about 5-7 mph and makes a nice ridge that will last two seasons. We have been ridging since 1984 on heavy black soils and haven't found any reasons to swich tillage systems. Give it a try you won't regret it.
