 Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums. | Dirt doors work fine here for corn and cotton. I'll admit that our land is pretty sandy, but it can get sticky on some of our darker soil. Nothing works great when it's sticky. We usually only use the bedder/roller on the broccoli ground to firm it up somewhat. That helps with depth control, which is critical with that tiny seed. Here is a picture of the dirt doors. The beds last 3 pictures in the above post (the ones of the planter) were made using the ripper/bedder with the doors too.
