| If you already have a min-till cultivator you can use that with either ridging wings or you can some nichols bedder sweeps or furrowers. They work really well. Les mentioned the hippers, but after running the hippers and the cultivator with the bedder point we will never go back to the hippers. They are too expensive to maintain, high wear, and extremely rough to travel behind if conditions are not ideal. The cultivator method will be smooth as you are filling the middle with loose dirt or clods leaving a smooth firm bottom in your middle.
That is how we do it here, we do it on about 3000 acres a year.
