My apologies. I reread the thread & see that you were talking about the JD that ran the sled out of bounds. Sorry. I'll leave the rest of my post as-is. 

Is this the IH tractor you were talking about going out-of-bounds? Or, do I have the wrong one for you? The top photo was taken about 75' from the finish line. Notice he's headed "south" towards the line.

If so, they initially reported his distance, but then about 3 minutes later announced him as "D-Q'd" due to going out of bounds. It's not where the sled goes, it where the tractor goes. As you can see in the 2nd photo, that same IH was like a cat with feathers on his mouth. You can see the lime on his tire from the boundary line. The 2nd photo was taken as they were unhooking him. If the sled whips out, but the tractor stays in...all is OK. But, when a tractor tire touches or crosses the boundary..it's DQ'd. This is all subject to human judgement from the officials, like many other sports. The "photo finish" is my work.
