This goes back 30, maybe 40 years, but I remember a story about a farmer in Iowa that had a vacant house, he was tired of vandalism/theft, rigged up a shotgun to the door. Even though there were numerous signs warning "do not enter", somebody did, and IIRC, he was convicted of murder. I realize you are not proposing that magnitude of deterent, but there's lots of lawyers out there.........
