We just put up our farms first legs and dryer. We wanted the storage for harvest efficiency and marketing flexibility. But after 2019 and harvest 20-22% corn in November, we felt with more storage we needed to look into a dryer also. Our bin contractor has been great, found us a used dryer, had a used 10,000/hr leg and then we decided to add a 5,000/hr dry leg instead of air system. We decided on the tower because the cables would have been way too far into the field.

Being able to reclaim and blend bushels has been very nice. Have one bin around 13.5% and another around 15.5, so we’re blending and hauling in 14-15% now. We are adding two 75 bushel Lowry pits this summer.

Currently at 200,000 bushels storage on site. We also have room to add another 48’ (72,000 bu) next to the current one, and could add a very large bin beside the wet bin. We looked at many different options and decided on this. So far so good.

Nice!
