A 300 bushel pit is better than no pit but if you're going to put a pit in, it needs to be bigger than 300 bushels to really get the benefits of a pit/leg combo.    It really needs to be at least 500-600 bushels of usable pit space



I completely agree but natural drain is going to limit us to that 5' number. Don't want to deal with water. The pit is really a buried conveyor for reasons stated above. The numbers work out to about a 10 minute dump time which should beat our current setup especially when the corn gets above 23%
