Subject: RE: Horse Panel Walker

The Priefert website lists an option for making the cross panel like an electric fence. I would enjoy watching folks training their horses to that. If the head panel was also electric, a horse could get pretty silly inside or trying to jump out. The very mention of this option suggests to me that a moving pen does not automatically make a horse go forward.

We tried a lead walker. It was used and a balky horse could stop the thing from moving. It made a he!! of a racket skipping over the gears. I was sure our horses weren't the first to stop the machine. The thing seemed sound with no horse attached.

I tried to walk with the young horse but failed to ever get the colt to travel with the machine by himself. I had no experience and no experienced trainer to show me. So, the problem was more on the human side than the machine or horse.
