Reread my post. I am pointing out that tandems are expensive to put together and more complex. He is pulling wagons with a tractor so a semi similar only faster. Tandems have their place, especially if you have livestock, hauling seed, cutting silage etc so I agree if that are uses that require a tandem. Here 500 bu is about max you can haul without a third axle. You will buy a semi cheaper, haul more legally even on a short one, less up keep. Swing augers with auger joggers make a hopper easier to dump than a straight truck as you have clean out corners. So not making it to my operation, just pointing out that trucks with box and hoists are not as cheap as some think and a lot of times semis are not as expensive as some think. If you have to back a truck up to dump I agree, but really hard to do with a wagon so I assume he is not doing that now.
