I was wrong The tires are 8.25, they say 4,000# so that’s about 260bu assuming the truck gets the trailer weight on it. It’s pretty light felt like pulling it home.

Math says it holds 320 full to the brim.
I don’t think there’s any way to make the brakes work, but I figure we will just pull it however fast is safe. If that’s 30 mph that’s what it is. 3 of my farms are within 5 miles of the elevator. Empty it pulls straight as an arrow at 55.

If it’s sketchy loaded I’ll use it to stash seed wheat.

I’m not against a straight truck, but anything I’ve found local is a major project. There’s no AC in them and it’s usually 100 when we’re cutting wheat here. Liability insurance is very high here and having to pass an inspection to get tags is pretty brutal. Most all the guys I see running straight trucks here haven’t had tags in 10 years or more.
