If you don't kno, you don't kno! If it's like some of our black clays after a year like this year it turns to cement! You won't even get a planter row unit in the ground with 500lbs of down force! We rip it to loosen it up let the water go down and fracture the soil if it gets cold enough to freeze there like it does here. There is no such thing as no till around here except on our blow sand
