A scroll through here gets nobody excited through the 6th of May if they're right. Our forecast has only 3 days in the 50's with the remaining short of 50. To the comments above, I think most including myself who were expressing the concern for a late spring up north got ridiculed. As the calendar continues to flip, this becomes more of an issue. Unprecedented snow and cold this late in the season just has the odds against it. Even in areas where the snow has melted, it's been too cold to dry much. The next 2 planting reports will show virtually no progress in MN, SD, and ND for sure if the forecast is realized. Likely slow progress in other states. I'm guessing we will flip from ahead on planting progress to behind the 5 year average over the coming weeks. | |
