Started top dressing wheat this week. First real tryout for the kubota. Overall pretty similar To the challenger it replaced. It rides really nice on road and in field. Has automatic adjustable front suspended axle and really glides down the road even at 30. Hydraulics seem good. Cab is layer out fairly well. Hazard light button is kinda ackward to reach and bumped with my knee a couple times. It has hid lights up top and just halogens mid, but overall lights up pretty well.
It’s a bit louder overall, expecaillu transmission noise but not necessarily a problem.
Probably the worst part about it is how the cvt handles. It doesn’t respond to the lever like you feel it should and is awkward to adjust to. Also it has a cruise control button but when engaged, if you pull the the stick to slow down, it doesn’t disengage the cruise control, it just reduces the speed and set speed, so you manually have to speed back up. If you press the cruise control button to disengage it, rather then going to another speed, it just disengages the transmission to 0 so you have to quick shut off cruise control then hit lever forward to catch it to keep from slowing down to much.
I need to read the book a little closer to make sure I’m doing it all right. Overall I’d say 8 out of 10, but it was a lot cheaper then a comparable challenger too, so was to be expected, I knew what i was getting into when I bought it and overall can’t conplain.

Sweet thanks for the update. Have you talked to the dealer about the cruise control?

Does the cvt seem smooth 0-30mph?

I like those but with the short wheel base I kinda figured they would ride rough. I'm happy to hear it's smooth enough to spray with.

How does the Kubota compare in price to green or red tractors?

I haven’t yet. Kubota guys are coming out to go over the cvt control issues so I’ll discuss it with them then. Overall I would say the ride is slightly better then challanger, that is just a seat of the pants feel, not anything factual. The seat does sit more like padded dining room chair, where as the challanger felt more like a recliner that enclosed you, but after being in it all day, my back didn’t hurt like it used to so idk. Maybe sitting upright and flat is actually better for me.

How would the M7-171 compare to a Deere 6150R or 6170R tractor...?

Not completely sure, but the m7 would be a mid frame tractor, so closer to the 7000 series I believe or the puma? Series case? I think Deere’s overlap quite a bit horsepower wise on the 6 and 7 series, but the 6 is still more of a utility type tractor, even though they can be dualed up.
