Looking at a t650 bobcat m series anybody have one, what's your thoughts? I like the top speed beats competitors by 2 mph, how's the doosan engine performing, salesman did say it takes 5 mins to warm up in cold weather. Also looked at a Kubota slv75-2 liked the roomy cab, Kubota engine has a good reputation. Both machines would have 2 speed, with cab. Would like to hear your comments on both machines. Thanks

Kubota's roll up door is awesome, as well as their whole cab. Very roomy and easy to get in/out. What you use it for would determine which machine I'd go with. Dirt work or farm?

I haven't run a bobcat but we have a svl 90-2 and love it. It's very strong and easy to run. As said above the cab is very roomy.

My older brother has a Kubota SVL75. That is the best skidsteer I have ever operated with the best cab/door by far. I work for a Mustang dealer and they have a great product but since they have been bought out by Manitou the company support/warranty has been terrible. I used to be a big New Holland skidsteer fan but the Kubota beats it all around. My only complaint would be the fuel gauge seems to go down faster than others but I have no facts to back that claim up. I wish they would make a wheeled version. I haven't used a Bobcat since college so I cant help you there. Good luck with your choice.

The wheeled SSV Kubota's will be available this spring.

The Doosan may take 5 minutes to warm up in "cool" weather with a heavy load, but the temps around here lately have been making guys pretty mad at them especially on farms where they just start them up to quick go do something and shut them off. Takes too long to warm up. I have no personal experience with them though so this is all just hearsay.

Both machines would work well though.

Just went through this same dilemma, and because of a existing relationship with the dealer we went a new T 650. Definitely going to take some getting used to coming off an 873. Only flaw I have found so far with just 8.3 hrs on it is it doesn't like any load when in high speed. Now as for as warming up. I went out this morning where temps were in the teens, turned the key and it glowed for 10sec and it fired right up. Never even hesitated. The cab is very comfortable. And I like the fact there is no DPF or DEF. I do wish the door rolled up though.

Your's is a Doosan right?

That's not the warming up issue people are referring too, it'll start just fine but will not let you run fully until everything is kosher, which can take awhile and for some people they are done with their task by then.

If you're doing any heavy dirt work or pushing, neither one is the winner. Deere and Takeuchi have that wrapped up. For around the farm, those machines are probably pretty equal, although the Kubota controls are a lot more responsive. Bobcat hasn't figured out how to make their controls real accurate. Very sluggish even on the brand new ones compared to Takeuchi for sure and Kubota to a lesser degree. Bobcat has service virtually everywhere tho so there is something to be said for that.

Kubota and Tak both use Pilot controls so they will be more responsive and feel more in tune than the EH style control on other machines that are either standard (Cat C/D, JCB/Volvo) or optional (Bobcat SJC, Deere, CNH, etc ).  Nice thing about EH though is the pattern changer.  If all you have are EH machines you don't notice the difference, its when you jump between pilot and EH that you notice the difference. Most machines allow you to adjust the response of the controls, but its still not quite the same, they have come a long ways though over the years, the improvement from our 262C and 262C2 to the 262D is big, almost too responsive now.

I went from a Bobcat T300 to a Kubota SVL 90-2.  No regrets.  Love the Kubota for all the reasons previously listed.  I particularly like the cab.
