7810 has 4200hrs. 2wd. 7610 has 3200hrs mfwd ($3000. more than 7810 ) 4455 has 3400hrs 2wd ($10000. less than 7810) All 3 would do the jobs I need. Which one is the best tractor?

i would take the 7610 if it would do the job. You can alway up the power on her a bit.

The biggest job may be pulling a 15' jd notil drill. My 4440 did it ok. Will it handle it as well?

Should be ok, Id go with the 7610 MFD, just cause it is MFD. Personally I will never own another 2wd tractor, to many times it comes in useful and will pick you up a 1/2 mph or more in ground speed with less slippage while pullin. Plus MFD ride nicer cause of larger front tires.

We've got a 4455 with 9,100 hours. No major problems. The cabs in the 7000 series are much nicer, though. I'd go 7810. You can never have too much power.

7610 without a doubt. We pull a 20 foot jd notill drill with a 7600 no problem. Cant beat mfwd would take it any day above 2wd

West Texas
Ran 3 different 4455's 2wd QR to over 13000 each minor repairs. Largest was a rear main on the engine dumped oil in the transmission.

If any of the three will work, I'd let my checkbook make the decision. ;)

King City, Mo
I have 2 john deere 4455's that we bought new, one in 91 and one in 93 and a 7210 we bought new in 99.

All three have 3400-4800hrs. I can pull my 750 jd drill with either one of them fine without duals on in gently rolling hills of nw mo. They are all 3 two wheel drive.

It would be nice to have a mfwd but they only time i wish i had one was when i'm doing something i really shouldn't be doing like plowing mudd or trying to open the hwy when there is a big snow storm.

The seat is better in the 7210, but the rest of the tractor is better on the 4455's. They are tough to beat. My neighbor ran ours baling hay and mowing when my dad was getting treatments for cancer when i was in collage and last year he got himself a 4455 mfwd and loves it.

The 4455's will burn a little more fuel if you are mowing hay compaired to the 7210 useing the same discmower. I always told dad i did more mowing then he did and that's why i burnt more fuel.

The 7210 has had more stupid issues, the pto had an issue last year that was like a grand to fix, the water pump has went out on it, the a/c doesn't blow as cold as the 4455's cuz your have a bigger cab to cool, i'd rather have a powershift vrs a power quad unless ur baling hay without a kicker.

Ill remind you of one very simple thing here. I have a 4455 with MFWD. I had to put front tires on it this spring, $4000 later I was rolling again. Personally, if you do not need the MFWD, DO NOT BUY IT! 2wd will turn sharper, and if you have smooth fields will ride just fine. If you need it, it is great to have.

EC Kansas
What kind of tires were they for that kind of money? We put a set on a MFWD for a bunch less money this spring. Just curious. 14L X 16.1 tires for a non MFWD tractor can run into some serious money now too. I do agree that a MFWD is overkill in a lot of situations and sounds like it might be in this situation also.

I bought a set for my 4450 mfwd and it wasn't near that high. I hope you bought tires that are guaranteed to never go flat and never lose tread depth. I had 13.6x26 I can't recall off the top of my head how much but significantly less than 4000.

7610 without a doubt. MFWD makes a big difference in sticky situations and since you don't need it to fit down 30" rows, the turn radius is not a problem because you can set the front tires wider. We have a 7120 with 8200+ hrs that is going strong even after loading a TMR mixer for 3000 hours. You actually get to look straight out the front window with the 7610 and 7810!

I'll never buy a 2wd tractor again, they might be fine if you only use them 6 mos out of the year but I don't know how we got along in the winter without them. Raking and baleing is the only place i can see them. Having a loader on a FWA over a 2wd is also night and day diff.

7610, you can turn up the fuel pump if you really want more HPs, and you will appreciate the MFWD.

Sorry guys, 18.4R26's, firestones, mounted, and them getting rid of the old ones, the tires alone were $1850 a piece

I'd believe that. Tires are getting ridiculous anymore.
