Subject: IH DT436 engine or complete salvage tractor


Kansas		Looking for a good running DT436 engine to put in an International 1486 tractor. I would also consider a complete salvage 1086 or 1486 tractor with a good engine.

Grandfield, Ok.		How about a ft 466 or 408 from a school bus or truck? There was several different 400 series engine s used in the trucks and buses

Hillsboro, OH		A 1086 has a DT414 not a DT436. You could get a DT436 from a 1466, 4166, 1486, 1586, 4186, 3388, 5088, 6388, 1460 combine, or and early 1480 combine. That said later 1486s have DT436B. An A series 400 series will work, but will not be exactly the same (different rings and breather). The 3388, 5088, 6388, and later 1460 would have a B series. Certainly a DT466 would work as well.

I think a 986 had a 436 also. Would have to add turbo.

Central Iowa		I have one, came out of a rolled 1440 it has the turbo added. Good runner.
