Northern Alabama | anyone built some type of drawbar support for an IH 86 series tractor ? How did you do it ? Any pics ? 400 bushel cart, may not need it but wouldn't hurt. I don't like the chain or cable idea...thanks |

Hoffman, IL | Can you find a drawbar out of say a 1566 or 1586. I have a 500 bushel cart on a 1566 also pull it with a 2590 and a 3588 or 6388. I belive the 3588 and 6388 have the same drawbar as a 1086. But the heavier one in our 15 may make you feel better.

NE S.Dakota | I have one on my 706, will get some pics, works well. I have not used it on the 1086 but it would bolt up. I had 500 Parker and never used a support on the 1086 for that. now have a 650 Demco, and on the 1586 the chain and three point has been used. |

Clark county Illinois | I have a 4500 Parker on an early 1486 and it doesn't seem to strain the drawbar - that I can tell. Cart capacity = 410 dry corn. |

KY | Have run a 400 bushel UFT for several years, 986 and 1066, set the drawbar to the short position and no problems. I have never dreamed of strengthening mine, but if you're uncomfortable I'd swap to a bar from a 15. |

Central Minnesota | Years ago, we used a 7140 to pull a killbros 1200... With extensions i think it held around 800.... Well, that same tractor was used in the spring pulling a 34 ft 4700 IH cultivator with a 500 gallon tank on the hitch for putting prowl down... Well, i think the cart or the cultivator stressed the hitch, and low and behold the drawbar snapped.
Got a used one from a tractor salvage yard. Slid the used one in, and then cut a piece of the old one, and bolted it underneath the new one from the support back towards the hole for hooking implements up. Left it about 3 inches short. Never had any issues since then. But that tractor is long gone now. |

NC IA | With a 400 bu cart, I wouldn't worry about it, as long as the drawbar is slid clear ahead, watch your PTO shaft to make sure its not "too long". |

| I run a 400bu Brent on a 1086 and it bends the drawbar so much you can easily see it with your naked eye in certain situations depending on terrain. I was hoping for a good answer in this thread. Does a 1586 drawbar really fit in there without changing a lot of other pieces too? |

|
| Is that a factory support? I really like to see some pics of it if not too much trouble. |

|
NEIA | I guess I'm screwed. I have pulled my 600 bushel Brent behind my 1086 since 1991. Only a matter of time now. |

NE S.Dakota | I switch the 1086 and 1586 between the tractors with no changes. One has the Hammer strap. |

|
KY | To hear the stories, you'd think yours would have snapped the first time you filled it over 500. If I were you I'd hold up at about 300 bu to be safe... okay maybe not! |
