eastern Kansas | I am fairly aware of the differnces in these two compounds but was trying to compare some premixed herbicides with one or the other in them and my question is would a pound of AI of acetochlor be the eqivialent to a pound of s-metolachlor?

mn | I would say 1 lb of s-metolochlor would be "hotter" than a lb of acetochlor. A lb of r moch would be more equal to a lb of acetochor so more like .67 lb of S-moch would equal to a lb of acetochlor

Greenwood MO | I have used several s metolachlor products Dual, Parallel, Moccasin they are all 82 % active. Acetachlor products such as warrant and Harness are 33% active. Much less concentrated

acwd45 - 1/8/2024 17:57 Here is a chart I have… Who made that chart? Edit to add that it makes zidua/anthem maxx appear very expensive vs dual 2 magnum if those conversions are accurate. Are the conversions cited biased or accurate? Edited by sparrell 1/8/2024 18:14

That’s because it is more expensive

NC SD | I assume they are accurate. I have no way of knowing though.

No way 1.67 pt is even close to 5 floz Zidua SC. Not a chance on Earth!

NW Wisconsin | Valent I believe Rodrigo from UW also has some published data too on group 15's and efficacy. And Zidua wins everytime. It was done this summer so IDK if you can find it on the interweb yet. But ive seen it in person. Edited by Moose333 1/9/2024 09:30

SC IA | Are you asking because of a crop safety concern or just effectiveness?

West Central MN | Zidua wins when you have rain. If you don't get consistent rain to activate it, it is a waste of money. Outlook or Warrant are better options in drier conditions. Illinois guys always want Zidua... the further west you go the less consistent it is.

eastern Kansas | effectiveness per dollar spent

NC South Dakota | And if u go far enough west zidua works better because it's the best at sitting on the soil surface waiting for rain.

NW KS | JellyJugz - 1/9/2024 21:16 And if u go far enough west zidua works better because it's the best at sitting on the soil surface waiting for rain. zidua was a flop here, because we dont get timely rains to keep active. and when we do get a rain its 1+ inches RIGHT NOW. encapsulated acetachlor has been a big improvement for us.
