Subject: Will a chipper/shredder process corn stalks and ears of corn

NorthWest Indiana
Have for years considered shocking my corn so at time of need I can grind/shred a shock making my own silage/fodder/feed. Those of you with a 3" chipper/shredder for your yard waste, will this do this job? If not, what are your ideas? I am only talking about 8 acres of corn, 6 calves. Have the stalk cutter already. Just kicking it around again as a pasture needs renovated this fall and would rotate corn into the lineup.
