Subject: Prevent Plant in North Dakota?

Dagmar, MT
I just heard that prevent plant for drought may be an option in North Dakota. This would have to be bullish for spring wheat if true. I farm right up to the state line & we’re no better off. There might be enough moisture to germinate & sustain our pulse crops through May without rain. Most of our durum acres will be on pea/lentil stubble which has zero surface/subsurface moisture available currently. It won’t take much arm twisting for a lot of guys to park the drill.
