Durant EC Iowa | So it happens every time crop prices get to lofty levels. When will we start seeing reports of food costs going up because the cost of raw products are more expensive. Of course we all know raw food sources are only a fraction of the actual costs of manufacturing a loaf of bread, cereal, or whatever. No matter, cost will go up because it can and the farmer will get blamed again.
What kind of sentiment will the general public have for our operations then and what impact will that have on government subsidies? USDA's budget will be strapped just supporting all the existing food programs.
Just my thoughts as we are waiting on rain here in eastern Iowa. | |
