Subject: To put things in perspective

I think we farmers fail to realize sometimes how small of a piece of the bigger picture we are. We are not as important as we think we are.

To put it in perspective, Amazon's 3rd quarter earnings were 96.15 billion dollars. That is enough money to buy the entire US corn and soybean crop depending on what prices you want to use. That is one quarter of revenue. Their net income for that quarter was $6.33 billion. Enough to buy 633,000 acres of farmland at $10,000/acre. Again, 3 months worth of profits.

US GDP for 2019 was 14.34 trillion dollars. That's about 300 years worth of bean crops at $12 and current annual production.

Let that sink in.
