Subject: post Hernia surgery - rehab program/conditioning

Fontanelle, IA
I had a few hernias patched on Dec 18. I have been following the doctors orders about 15# lifting restrictions and NO climbing/doing chores.

At my 4 week appointment on this Thursday, I was wondering if anyone had a stretching/strengthening/conditioning type program that you or a family member had used post surgery as a way to transition from the "do-nothing-except-walk" restriction routine into your previous paced farm work/labor pace pre-surgery. I wanted to bring some ideas/examples to my appointment. I didn't know if there were specific stretches or core exercises or something else to do in certain sequences as i "graduate" up in intensity?

I have a cow-calf operation. My biggest issue seems to be with driving my manual dodge and raising my right leg to shift from fuel pedal to brake. I could definitely feel it after an hour or so of driving yesterday (jan 10).

Many thanks in advance for any advice!
Bart
