Subject: Flood irrigation, number of borders water pressure?

I have a 12 acre field that is watered by a 3/4 - 1 mile dirt ditch. The field is long and narrow. Currently has 1 border in the middle and 2 sections and takes a solid 12 -18 hours per section to irrigate. Headgate from main water ditch is 18 inches. . Water pressure gets weak going so far. It has 2 12 inch culverts per border. Question. #1 if I add an additional border creating 3 sections will it irrigate quicker? Question#2. 3 smaller sections 4 acres each, should I use bigger culverts 2 15 inch or 1 18 inch per border ? Last year the ground wouldn’t completely dry for 3-4 weeks after watering. Thanks
