West Central Illinois | After my previous post about my "death trap" squeeze chute (old WW vertical closing headgate) i finally found a used priefert 91 headgate at an auction that was about $100. Needed some wd 40 and a couple bent piece straightened out to work good. Anyhow my initial idea was to bolt/weld the headgate to my squeeze chute after cutting the original headgate parts off. After measuring everything it appears that will not work with where the lever that squeezes on my chute sits it would be in the way.
That being said I'm thinking I've heard a lot of guys dont have a whole squeeze chute just a good headgate for working calves. Anybody have pics of their headgate setup? I'm going to need to build an extension on my alleyway that has more room for me to access the neck for shots. Does anybody just use continuous pipe fence panels for the sides of their headgate?
