ND | So I rinsed my phone off as it was covered in a mixture of grease and diesel and got some water in the usb port. I let it dry, it charged fine then about 3 am I unplugged it, the cable's end was very hot, and then an hour later I plugged it back in and was greeted by "water in USB". I left it on the vent for a few hours(fan is always running) and the message had not gone away but it would "charge " or atleast claim to.(it didn't) then after that it would not take a charger or cable to it without being upset.
I did get a full charge on it using an old charger with the phone off. I do not know if it will do it again, and the Samsung recommendation of "qtip with alchohol and clean the port" worked for about 15 minutes before the message came back.
Ideas? Time to buy a new usb assembly and take a shot at repairing it? | |
