Subject: Explain how this could be please

moline illinois
2017 was a record corn bpa yield. 2020 USDA is saying it's an even higher record bpa yield. In 2017 there were very few places that had bad yields, sure here and there but mostly excellent yields. In 2020 yields ar all over the place in a lot of areas. I have heard ranges of 50 bpa difference in Iowa and Illinois. Here in the 3 counties of my area nobody is getting a record yield and far more poor yields are coming in. So with 2017 being pretty consistent with great yields across the country and this year having a wide range and reports of poor yield in places throughout the nation how can we be growing a higher bpa in corn?
