South Central MN | Our monitor has historically been awfully accurate. We calibrate our grain cart against the coop scale and then the monitor against the grain cart. Was seeing some crazy-high, but grain-cart verified corn yields coming across the monitor, so I told dad I was going to trade with him in the grain cart so he could enjoy seeing the numbers on the monitor. Almost as soon as he started, the yield dropped by 70bpa. There's a clear line on the yield map. We were stumped for a bit and I was teasing him about messing up the yields, but then we did some more weight checks with the grain cart. The yield monitor was consistently low by 20%. Based on acres covered, bushels we can hold on the combine, and the grain cart weights, we believe the grain cart to be accurate. I'm almost certain there is something wrong with the mass flow plate at the top of the clean grain elevator. what should we look for in the morning? | |
