South Central Kansas | Planted 112 to 114 day corn April 20, 21 and 27.....about a week late for me. Dropped 23,500 population, 20K to 20.5K ear count.
We got 1.6 inches on June 19 that pulled our corn back from the fire, two more days of 98 and a hot wind would have really damaged it. It was tasseled and silked.
I shelled 124 dry adjusted bu today off of 10.2 acres, about a third of that field edge near trees. Actual field moisture was 15.6 to 17.1 first two loads. Corn getting wetter as I get into the field, may have to wait a day or two since coop doens't like it over 16.5. Test weights and kernal size looking very good. Hoping we are closer to 130 bu average.
This corn will make money in our area with our expenses. 144.9 is the best whole field I have ever harvested, ample rain all summer.
