Camp Douglas Wi. 40miles nw of wi. dells | Been running two combines in soybeans over 30 years. Usely would upgrade main combine every 9 years with 1-2 year old machine, then find more experienced combine to help cut beans.
In 2011 we bought new 9770 with new heads traded 9650 sts, only new combine ever bought. Had bought 9510 in 2009 to help cut beans that replaced 6620 II.
9770 is the best combine we have owned. But it’s getting some hours on it, doing 2/3 thirds of the beans and all the corn As the 9510 couldn’t handle the 12x22” cornhead. Also been taking us to many days to get our soybeans cut.
So in July we decided to look for another 9770 4wd, pro drive, 5 speed feeder house and wanted 2011 model, same as the one we bought new. This way we’ll get the beans cut faster and have a solid backup in corn.
Just so happened a nice 2011 model 9870 With all the goodies and 635F with Carry Air real came along. We bought the package and turned around and sold our 9510 with 625F Carry air bar privately.
We put the stairway on the 9870, as we did with the 9770 some years back.
