mascoutah, IL | I keep reading here about everyone being in a drought while it won’t stop raining here. I post sprayed all my beans on June 28th and 29th. The next day I had almost 4 inches. Hasn’t stopped since. Have some farms over 15 inches now since that time but all have had at least 12. Been raining here for about three days straight with tropical downpours and have rain in the forecast for 4 of the next 7 days. I believe this is the fourth system of the year that has done this. Just keeps spinning back around like a hurricane would. July rain is nice but beans are going backwards in a hurry. Corn looks pretty good yet. Trying to get the June corn sprayed with fungicide but can’t get a long enough dry spell to even hit it with a helicopter. Southern rust has been found in the county north of me so would like to get it done. Salesman here yesterday claims we had 15 days of rain in July. I feel for those of you that are too dry and wish I could share this with you. | |
