Took my wife to the ER last Wednesday with chest, left shoulder and arm pains. After an x-ray, EKG and lab work they immediately transferred her to Midland with  diagnosis of heart attack. By the time I got to Midland they had already (unsuccessfully) to insert a stent or a balloon. The clog was in a small vein that was too small to penetrate and surgery was not possible right there. Loaded her up on 3 different blood thinners and other medicine. Got to bring her home yesterday and will return to the cardiologist tomorrow for a checkup. Seems like we all read about other people having heart problems but it never really hits home until it strikes one of our own. She is doing great but will always have that 10 to 15% damaged heart. I could not have asked for better care, Doctors, nurses and administration that we received at both hospitals.
