Pocahontas County, IA | Thought I could replace expensive landline with an inexpensive no data cell phone from CC. They sent me a sim card for a Verizon Kyocera. I was able to get it authorized and it would make and recieve calls. I could not setup voicemail. CC explained they dont know if a sim card in an existing phone will work until they try it so recommended I buy a CC phone from Target. Chose a $100 Samsung A10e for $110 as I didnt need a great camera or lots of memory.
Phone would not acquire network to become authorized in spite of showing 3 bars of reception. With tech help I connected phone to home wifi and got it authorized. Still cannot make or recieve calls on CC network. Tech did a song and dance about not responsible for local coverage in spite of maps on CC website showing good coverage for my location.
Question is does a more expensive phone have a better reciever? Experience suggests the Kyocera did. | |
