Sunday afternoon I watched the entire game 1 of the 1968 World Series between the Cardinals and Tigers. This was Gibson's 17 strikeout game. You would be surprised what you can find that is 40 or 50 years old. I remember watching the game originally in the 4th grade. I went to a Catholic grade school and the nuns were big baseball fans. As soon as Gibson recorded his last strikeout the nun asked the unruly class what had just happened. Nobody knew what she was talking about except me. I got to watch game 2 the next day by myself.
